In a second statement to Yahoo, Britney Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph reconfirmed the popstar is not going to perform at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

“Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year’s VMAs,” Larry said in his statement. “She’s in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio.”

However, MTV is in talks with Britney for a possible appearance (announcing an award, a band or something…)
