As expected, Britney Spears ‘Circus’ opened the week selling 505,000 copies in the U.S.A grabbing her fifth #1 on The Hot 200 Albums, making her the first female to have 6 albums among 1-2 positions on Hot 200, being ‘Blackout’, released in 2007, her only album that didn’t make it to #1.

The ‘Circus’ debut did not give Spears’ a well deserved number one, but made her the only person to have four albums debut with 500,000 or more.

Besides Spears, only other 4 singer have got 3 albums selling more than 500,000 – 2Pac, 50 Cent, Jay-Z and Garth Brooks.

Her previously records to set 500,000 + in the opening week were her second studio album ‘Oops!…I Did It Again’ (2000) that opened the week with 1,3 million copies, ‘Britney’ (2001) with 746k copies sold and ‘In The Zone’ (2004) that opened the week counting 609,000.Being this Britney’s 5th #1 on the Hot 200, among females only Barbra Streisand, Madonna,Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson have earned more numbers #1, in order, eight, seven and the last two with six.

Not only the album made it to the top, but the second single, also titled ‘Circus’, grabbed #1 on The Hot Digital Songs with more than 212,000 legal downloads and debuted at #3 on The Hot 100 Singles, Previous to ‘Circus’, Britney’s ‘Womanizer’ also appears on the top 10 at #10 — making it the first time Britney’s got 2 singles on the Top 10 of Hot 100 at the same time. But these songs aren’t the only ones making it to the charts, the non-singles ‘Shattered Glass’ and ‘If U Seek Amy’ appears at #65 and #95.

Pop princess, or should I say Queen?, Britney Spears is really back! The popstar surspass the mark of 219,000 (219k) album sales for the first day — Yes, You read that right — ‘Circus’ sold 219k copies only on December 2nd in the U.S.A.

The number is huge, and, is by far, the best sold album in the first day of 2008, Taylor Swift, who previously was holding the record, has driven her latest album ‘Fearless’ to 217k copies sold in the first day ending the week counting 592k copies sold, The Jonas Brothers were right behin selling with their latest album ‘A Little Bit Longer’ 200k copies in the first day ending the week with 505k copies sold.

Following the smashing success of the opening day sales, It’s expected that ‘Circus’ surspass the mark of 450k copies sold, and with potential to go even higher, through 550 – 600k copies sold.

The number of sales, 219k, is just 80% of total album sales on the first day by far.If ‘Circus’ gets to the top of Billboard Hot 200 Albums, it will be the 5th time Britney will be topping the list.

Britney’s previous album, ‘Blackout’ sold 290k on the opening week, and ‘Circus’ may go far of this number on the second day of sales. So you see what a little promotion can do, The well rated MTV’s documentary and the so buzzed about Good Morning America performance and birthday bash, as well as the official release of the album’s second single and the video premiere next Friday mixed with good professional reviews can do.

By the way, Britney will promote the album on Ellen DeGeneres show this Thursday.

This just in: Britney’s new album ‘Circus’ is predicted to sell 450K+ according to Hits Daily Double latest update! GO BRITNEY! This is great news and if this in fact happens, Britney’s album will debut at #1 on the Billboard 200!

Britney might not want to call her latest release a comeback, but whatever you dub it, her new Jive/ZLG album Circus is soaring past all expectations.

Thanks to a barrage of good publicity for a change, the pop star, who just celebrated her 27 th birthday yesterday with a performance on ABC’s Good Morning America, will debut at #1 on next week’s HITS Album Sales chart with a total that seems to be in excess of 450k, and very capable of climbing even higher.

First-day sales were brisk for the album, coming on the heels of MTV’s highly rated documentary, Britney: For the Record, a Rolling Stone cover story and surprisingly rave reviews. Hey, the media owes her.

With initial guesstimates in the 350k range, Spears appears to be blowing away first-week expectations. Based on first day sales reports, the album seems poised to top the recent first week total of this week’s #1, Kanye West, and, possibly, even Beyonce.

Meanwhile SRC/Universal Motown’s Akon, fresh off a hit single, will be the next highest debut of the week in the 80-90k range, while Asylum rapper (and one-time Geto Boy) Scarface looks to scare up some 30-40k in sales.

The market was up 29% vs. last week, thanks to Black Friday, basically flat vs. the same week last year and still down 14% year to date.

I’m smelling success, Aren’t you?

Not only ‘Circus’ album has hit #1 on U.S. iTunes Top Albums, But the track ‘Circus’ has got it’s #1 already. The ‘Circus’ track hasn’t even been officially released as single yet, and is already topping iTunes. What we could consider as a problem, Because when it gets released as single, The airplay will start going up, and the song sales will go down, hurting her chances to have another #1 on Billboard Hot 100.

‘Circus’, the track, will probably chart on Billboard Hot 100 Songs the next week, Hope the nearest to #1 as possible, since the song hasn’t made the Top 40 on Airplay yet.

Talking about Airplay, ‘Womanizer’ is still going strong on Mediabase Top 40, the song is currently at #6, the highest position from Britney since ‘Toxic’ hit #1 in 2004.Mediabase monitors more than 1,500 radio stations in the U.S.A.

If you haven’t bought your ‘Circus’ yet, Be sure to get your ass to the nearest cd store to pick up your physical cd copy as well as buying your digital copy on iTunes.
