Britney Spears last single from ‘Circus’ has escaped the total American charts failure by debuting at The Billboard Hot 100 this week but, don’t get too happy. The song has debuted at number 90.

This is due to the increasing of radio airplay. The song is increasing very very slowly, but still increasing, it’s currently charting at #29 on Mediabase (Mediabase monitors radio stations throughout U.S. measuring songs airplay). Remember that the Medibase charts are used to build the Billboard Top 40 Mainstream as well as The Billboard Pop Songs charts.

As of the paid downloads, Radar has sold 13,780 copies this week, staying out of The Billboard Hot Digital Songs charts, at #111. In total, Radar has sold 346,748 digital copies in the U.S. So far, It is the less successful single out of ‘Circus’, since both ‘Womanizer’ and ‘Circus’ have exceded 2,000,000 sold copies each being certified 2x Platinum and ‘If U Seek Amy’ has already passed the 1,000,000 mark getting Platinum certification.

They’re in, or better, out! Britney Spears new music video ‘Radar’ didn’t only disappoint the fans, but also was criticized by the media, on ‘Where’s the dancing? Where’s Britney?’

[...]For a song that’s been around so long, you’d expect that better ideas would have percolated during its video’s pre-production stages — especially after the great clips for “Womanizer,” “Circus” and “If U Seek Amy” — but instead we’re treated to Spears’ weakest video since the disastrous “Gimme More” spot.

The plot is eerily similar too, with the Dave Meyers-directed video essentially copycatting Madonna’s “Take A Bow” video. Instead of falling in love with a matador like the Material Girl, Spears has her eye on a polo player. While Madonna dressed the role of a distressed aristocratic senorita in the stands, Spears’ wardrobe and giant hat mirror the elite at the Kentucky Derby. Instead of montage shots of bulls, we see horses. The major difference here is that there’s a love triangle, even though none of the people involved actually seem to like each other as they stare vacantly off camera half the time. It feels like they took a 30-second commercial for one of Spears’ perfumes and turned it into a four-minute music video.

So where does Britney’s “Radar” rank in the pantheon of all her music videos? Is it better than “Lucky,” another video Meyers helmed for Spears?

– Rolling Stone

[...]With more clothes on than normal, Britney has spliced together a fresh music video for her fourth lackluster single off of her latest album “Circus.”

[...]The video, complete with a fully clothed Britney and a weird slow motion horse shower scene, seems a bit off track. Shot at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, this cheesy video left me expecting more . More dancing, more plot, more drama … I guess just more Britney.

In addition to opting for a Kentucky Derby motif — all the way down to a white brimmed sassy Hampton’s hat and Hepburn shades — she even cast two fellas that strangely resemble her ex, Kevin Federline — you know, if he could find his Bic razor. [...]

– New York Post

[...]Though she does wear her signature belly-baring tops in the video, Spears doesn’t display any of her signature dance moves. Instead she opts for lots of glamour shots — of herself and of a magnificent polo pony — as she sings about the hot guy on her radar. In the end, Britney picks the polo player over the rich boyfriend, and the two run away to the beach together, hand in hand.[...]

– MTV.com

[...]Unlike others she’s done recently for, say, “Womanizer” or “If U Seek Amy,” the pop star has chosen to keep things pretty low-key this time around by leaving the choreographed moves at home and simply going for a more straightforward approach in telling a so-called story.

At times it looks and feels a bit too much like one of those overly dramatic fragrance commercials. But it’s still nice to see this song finally get some attention—it essentially went unnoticed on Brit’s 2007 album, Blackout, before returning on her latest, Circus.[...]

Britney Spears If U Seek Amy Music Video

X17 Agency says they got an insider on the set of Britney Spears ‘If U Seek Amy’ music video, and the insider has revealed them a few more details (than the pics we saw yesterday).

On the first day of shooting (Tuesday) Britney was rocking a short blonde wig, a pink shirt and a white high waisted skirt, and they are told, the second day of shooting, the outfit did what they said to be a 180º, as they were told the new outfits were more ‘revealing’.The source says:

First off, there was a LOT of dancing. Yesterday just focused on getting the dancing part of the video done. Britney looked great, very smooth and focused. And no need to fear, the short wig was gone and Britney had beautiful long hair. The outfits were basically the opposite of what they were the day before. They were all very flashy, fun and sexy.

They said Britney was happy and she even hung out with the crew. The source claims to be a member of production’s crew, but x17 still doesn’t vouch for the truthfulness of the information.
