Seems like there’s no stop for the lead-single from Britney Spears seventh studio album (due March 15th). “Hold It Against Me” leaked onto the web on Monday (January 10th) and got instantly praise from several critics from major publications, such as Rolling Stone, LA Times, New York Post, MTV, The Guardian (UK), etc, etc. Not only, “Hold It Against Me” got released exclusively to iTunes at Midnight (January 11th) and reached the top spot of the American store in less than 8 hours, having also reached #1 in other 14 countries, and Top 5 in all the countries it got released so far. On it’s first official day, “HIAM” starts with 9.074 million Audience Impressions from US radio stations (“3″ took 4 days to get past 9 million, and “Womanizer” took 2 days, just FYI). The song also received 619 spins from Pop radio only on Monday and over 700 spins from all formats breaking Mariah Carey’s 2008 record for “Touch My Body” which was 500 spins, according to Mediabase stats. Mediabase stats are a lookup to Billboard’s airplay charts, which are also used to build The Hot 100. Be sure to buy “Hold It Against Me” at your local iTunes store. Related Posts: |

OneRepublic vocalist and producer Ryan Tedder has talked about his working on Britney Spears new album to E! and has added that the pop princess is experimenting with her new record. “I know that ‘Usual You’ off the last album [Circus] has been tossed around like, ‘Use this as kind of a jumping off point,” — he said after talking about the writing camp that was held in Texas for the new album. Tedder did not take part in this camp, but he told E! that Max Martin is considering one of his songs for Britney. “It’s mind-bendy and trippy,” Tedder said, adding, “I applaud the label for saying, ‘We’re not going to do what’s always been done.’ I think Britney’s such an innovator. She needs to be in the forefront, you know what I mean? You can’t come out with something sounding like someone else.” Tedder has produced, besides his work from his band OneRepublic, songs for many hitmakers including Beyonce (“Halo” writer/producer), Leona Lewis (“Bleeding Love” writer/producer/instrumental), Timbaland (“The Way I Are” writer/producer) and others. A source tells X17 Agency that Britney Spears is ready to give the world a new sound, a “more energetic” one, that is 100 times better than the so-called best album by the pop princess, her 2007 release “Blackout”. A person involved in the project told reporters from the agency: “Right after this year’s Grammy Awards, Britney met with all of the producers for her next album to explain the vibe she’s looking to capture. Brit, who is co-writing many of the songs, explained that she’s looking to give the new album a vibe like the song Get Naked from Blackout.” and this same source says the album will be 100 times better than “Blackout”. The source told that the album was initially scheduled for a summer release, but may now be pushed back. X17 learned that a new Britney song will be hitting radio stations really soon.
