Britney Spears is now the most followed person on Twitter, as she passed Ashton Kutcher this morning to become the most popular profile at the micro-blogging website. Britney posted two messages regarding her “achievement”:

As of right now, Britney has 4,950,611 followers, with Ashton right behind with 4,944,210, the third place belongs to Ellen DeGeneres with 4,660,808 and Lady Gaga coming at #4 with 4,144,657, the 5th place belongs to Obama and his 4,038,786 followers. These 5 are also the only profiles with more than 4,000,000 followers.
