Former pop, now country, singer Jessica Simpson tells Vanity Fair on their most recent issue that she always felt like ‘third runner-up’ to pop princess Britney Spears and fellow other pop musician Christina Aguilera. Jessica first came up against the Britney and Aguilera when she auditioned for Disney’s ‘Mickey Mouse Club’ TV show, and then was rejected, while Christina and Britney took part in the show. She finally launched her pop career in 1999, but her debut came after Britney’s and Aguilera’s number #1 debuts. Jessica now admits she always felt like she needed to catch-up Britney and Christina. ‘When I got the letter (from the Mickey Mouse Club) that said I didn’t make it, I just remember that I was giving up and I thought that I was going to die[...]It’s funny to look at my journals and see all the fears I had to face. (Those girls) all remembered me. I didn’t feel competitive. I was more intimidated[...]My album was different (from theirs). I released a ballad first. I wasn’t dancing and doing that whole thing. I wanted to set myself apart. But I was always third runner-up.’ Related Posts: |

The song “these boots were made for walking” was sung before by Nancy Sinatra, Jessica Simpson definitely has a firmer looking body than nancys and she made her song a lot more marvelous sounding.
