 California’s court system can finally take a rest, at least from the custody battle between super-popstar Britney Spears and former husband Kevin Federline for their two childrean Sean Preston and Jayden James.Brit and K-Fed finally had finally reached an agreement over their prolonged custody battle for their two children, the paper work has finally been signed, one week after it was reported that Spears would be retiring from the battle to sole custody for Kevin.
Federline’s attorney Mark Vicent Kaplan confirmed to OK! Magazine the new agreement one week before to announce that he and Brit’s attorney Laura Wasser had worked out an agreement between the feuding spouses.Under the terms of the settlement Kevin is to retain sole legal and physical custody over his children with Britney, who will continue to have her visitation rights that will probably increase with time.
The agreement was presented to court on July 18, at which point commissioner Gordon had been expected to finalize the paperwork, finally putting an end to months of back-and-forth feuding.
The few details of the settlement that have been released include the fee to be paid to Kaplan (US$ 250.000) and the amount of child support to be paid to K-Fed by Brit (US$20.000 a month or US$ 4 million until both sons complete 18 years old).When asked when Kevin wanted an increase of $5.000 above what Britney was paying before, Kaplan said: “He’s trying to contribute as much [of his own money] as he can”.
Spears is well on her way to regaining joint custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James, which she lost following her January meltdown.
“By the end December she will effectively be getting 50-50 time with her boys based on her improvement” A Spears souce told E! Entertainment.
